Raipur, Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the state government is providing free of cost high quality medical facilities for kidney patients. Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana has already been launched to provide cashless treatment up to Rs.5 lakh to the BPL ration cardholders of the state. Now the state government is also providing free dialysis facilitiy for kidney patients.
In the National Free Dialysis Program under the National Health Mission, free dialysis facility is being provided in eight district hospitals of the state by the name 'Jeevan Dhara'. Patients suffering from kidney diseases have to undergo frequent dialysis for a prolonged period. This places a huge burden on them. But now with this free dialysis facility available locally, kidney patients will not have to travel far for treatment. This facility would also save their time, effort and money.
Free dialysis facility is being provided by the National Health Mission in eight districts of the Chhattisgarh namely Durg, Kanker, Korba, Bilaspur, Jashpur, Surguja, Mahasamund and Bijapur. For this, five machines have been installed each in Jashpur, Durg and Kanker districts, four each in Ambikapur and Mahasamund, six in Korba, three in Bijapur and four in Bilaspur (three in CIMS Medical College and one in Bilaspur Covid Hospital), thus in total 36 machines have been installed.
Under the National Free Dialysis Programme, a total of 23 thousand 129 dialysis sessions have been conducted in eight district hospitals so far. Of these, 4885 sessions have been conducted in Durg district, 4872 sessions in Korba, 4230 sessions in Kanker, 3504 sessions in Bilaspur, 2631 sessions in Mahasamund, 1390 sessions in Surguja, 942 sessions in Bijapur and 675 sessions in Jashpur.
One-time dialysis cost in a private hospital is Rs.700 to Rs.1200, state government provides the treatment free of cost

Availability of free dialysis facilities in districts hospitals, people from remote areas does not have to go far for dialysis. This facility is saving their time, effort and money.
