The "Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026" was organized at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University under the joint auspices of MY Bharat and NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The central theme of the event was "50 Years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy." During the session, young speakers shared powerful insights on strengthening democratic values, constitutional principles, and civic duties.

The inaugural session was attended by A.K. Srivastava (Proctor), Prof. Ashok Pradhan (Dean, Life Sciences), Prof. Sunita Sanwariya (Science College), and Arpit Tiwari (State Director, MY Bharat). In his address, Arpit Tiwari highlighted that the program aims to involve youth in the policy-making process to help them play an active role in fortifying democracy. He also noted that the top five selected participants from this district-level event will move forward to represent at the state level.A distinguished jury panel evaluated the participants, including Prof. Sunita Chansoria and Prof. Aman Jha from Durga College, Prof. Alekh Sahu from the School of Law (PRSU), Prof. Ashok Pradhan from the Department of Anthropology, and Prof. Kamlesh Shukla from the Department of Biotechnology. The judges praised the participants for their sharp logical reasoning and public speaking skills, encouraging them to continue their journey as future leaders.Someshwar Prasad Ganjir claimed the first prize, remarking that a strong democracy is the backbone of the nation and urging for the protection of its core pillars fifty years after the Emergency. He was followed by D. Gyanesh Kumar in second place, Devashish Patel in third, Avani in fourth, and Anushruti Kumbhalkar in fifth.

The event saw significant engagement, with over 195 youth registering via the MY Bharat portal. Their enthusiastic participation served as a testament to the growing awareness and positive outlook of today’s generation toward India’s democratic journey and constitutional heritage.
