Chhattisgarh has made its mark in the country for taking innovative steps in the education sector: Chief Minister Mr.Baghel. A ceremony honouring teachers was organized in Raj Bhavan.

Raipur, 05 September 2022/ Today at Raj Bhawan, Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel honoured the excellent teachers of the state on the occasion of Teachers' Day and extended their greetings and best wishes. The award ceremony was inaugurated with a floral tribute to the photographs of Goddess Saraswati and Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan. During this, 04 teachers were honoured with a Memorial Award in the name of great litterateurs of the state and 56 teachers with a State Teacher Award.       Addressing the award ceremony, Governor Ms. Uikey greeted all the teachers and students of the state on Teachers' Day. She appreciated the remarkable efforts being made by the State Government in the field of school education. The Governor said that starting of English medium schools in the state has fulfilled the dreams of students from cities or rural areas or remote areas who want to study in English medium schools. The reopening of schools in Naxalite areas and the opening of ‘Baalwadi’ will play an important role in improving the condition of education. The Governor said that timely and speedy compassionate appointment to the relatives of the teachers who died during covid was an important initiative from the human point of view. She also appreciated the allocation of an amount of Rs.500 crores for the renovation of schools.         The Governor said that the future of the county lies with the children, their fundamentality and imagination are the precious wealth of the country and teachers have the important responsibility of shaping their future. The teachers must inculcate high ideals and moral values in the students along with the feeling of patriotism and unity among them. We have to make them capable, trained and skilled citizens. She said that the teachers are requested to infuse the rich elements of Indian cultural heritage into the minds of the students and inculcate strong faith in the Indian Constitution, democracy, secularism, national unity and integrity. They should make such efforts which not only inculcate discipline in the children but also helps them to know and understand themselves and make them capable of facing future challenges.


Governor Ms. Uikey said that the development of human resources is our first need and this is only possible through education. The development of human resource supports the development of other resources. In its absence, valuable resources will be wasted and destroyed.


She said that many students had to drop out of school during Covid and they had faced many other adverse situations. Students are also facing mental and emotional damage, for which we have to take more effective steps to overcome this damage. The Governor said,” There has been a tradition of worshipping teachers (Gurus) in our country and I am sure that this tradition will continue to grow stronger”.


Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel wished all the respected teachers on Teachers' Day. He said that the teachers along with fulfilling their responsibility towards society have also tried that any student might not be deprived of education even in the challenging times of Covid. Classes were continued in many innovative ways and the Prime Minister also mentioned and praised the teacher of Jashpur in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio program. Similarly, NITI Aayog has also appreciated Chhattisgarh for taking innovative steps in the field of education. He said that the government has taken every initiative for improving quality and expanding facilities in the field of education. There is a huge demand to open more schools like Swami Atmanand Excellent English medium from Sukma to Balrampur. We have opened 279 English medium schools and more schools will be opening soon. An amount of Rs.500 crores has been sanctioned for the renovation of schools and ‘Baalwadi’ are also being opened for children. Now, every school in the state will dedicate one day a week to teaching Chhattisgarhi and other local dialects.


School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam also addressed the program. On this occasion Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Dr. Alok Shukla, Secretary to Governor Mr. Amrit Kumar Khalkho, Secretary School Education Mr. S. Bharathidasan, Legal Adviser to the Governor Mr.Rajesh Srivastava, Director School Education Mr.Sunil Kumar Jain, Deputy Secretary to the Governor Mr.Deepak Kumar Agrawal, officers and employees of both Raj Bhavan and Education Department along with teachers were present.
