News Raipur :: Meeting of State Level High Power Steering Committee for Mission Amrut-2.0 held:

Raipur, August 11, 2023 / The sixth meeting of the State Level High Power Steering Committee for Mission Amrut 2.0, chaired by Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, was held at the Mahanadi Bhawan in Mantralaya on Thursday. Following detailed discussions on water supply schemes across six cities in the state, the comprehensive project report gained official approval. These schemes will provide tap connections to over 26,603 households, with an estimated project cost totalling around Rs 354 crore. Additionally, the State Town and Country Planning Department's State Action Plan for Mission Amrut-2.0 received approval during the meeting.

In the meeting, Shri Saumil Ranjan Choubey, Chief Executive Officer of the State Urban Development Agency, gave a detailed presentation on an overview of water supply schemes for five cities under Mission Amrut 2.0. He shared detailed insights regarding the water supply schemes in Shivarinarayan (Janjgir-Champa), Kondagaon (Kondagaon district), Bhanupratappur (Kanker district), Kunkuri (Jashpur district), Sukma (Sukma district), and Amdi (Dhamtari district). 

It was informed in the meeting that works were carried out at a rapid pace in sanctioned projects under Mission Amrut-2, with most nearing completion. Acknowledging exemplary work on approved projects, the Central Government awarded Chhattisgarh an incentive of Rs 69.77 crore under the Amrut Mission. Similar progress has been witnessed under Amrut Mission-2.0, propelling Chhattisgarh to secure the fifth position nationally. During the meeting, a state action plan totalling Rs 5 crore 65 lakh 92 thousand was approved for ten cities under Amrut Mission-2.0 including Bhatapara, Chirmiri, Mahasamund, Dalli-Rajhara, Dongargarh, Kawardha, Naila-Janjgir (M), Champa (M), Kanker, and Dhamtari of Town and Country Planning Department. 

Shri Ankit Anand, Finance Department Secretary, Dr. S. Bharatidasan, Public Health Engineering Department Secretary, and Shri Janak Prasad Pathak, Special Secretary of Housing and Environment and Commissioner of Town and Country Planning along with officials of Panchayat and Rural Development, Forest, Public Health Engineering, and Urban Administration Departments attended the meeting organized through video conferencing.
